Greenwich is home to such historically significant sites as the impressive National Maritime Museum and the Cutty Sark, the Old Royal Naval College and the Royal Observatory Greenwich - site of the world's Prime Meridian and Greenwich Mean Time. In 1997 UNESCO added Maritime Greenwich - including parts of the historic town centre and Greenwich Park - to its list of World Heritage Sites, recognising its "unique ensemble of buildings and landscape of exceptional artistic value, the work of a number of outstanding architects and designers" and its "considerable scientific significance by virtue of the contributions to astronomy and to navigation".

Contemporary Greenwich - shopping and attractions

For all its rich historical heritage, it would be a mistake to think that Greenwich is stuck in the past. While the borough proudly relishes its historical reputation, more recent investment and development had created a lively and buzzing quarter where traditional Victorian and Georgian architecture rubs shoulders with the most modern properties and amenities.

Greenwich apartments - only minutes from London's hottest spots

Greenwich has plenty to offer, but it's also conveniently located for travel to other parts of the nation's vibrant capital, with public transport links within just a few minutes' walk of our Greenwich properties.

The nearby Cutty Sark DLR station gives access to the Docklands Light Railway - only nine minutes to Canary Wharf. In the other direction Greenwich rail station (just six minutes' walk from our South London apartments) is only two stops from London Bridge station and access to the city centre - and beyond.
